Team LADACIN runs in the NJ Marathon

Team LADACIN, led by team leader Joseph Walker participated in their seventh consecutive New Jersey Marathon in support of LADACIN Network. Twenty-eight runners, including members of the Walker family, friends and LADACIN staff members solicited sponsorships to raise funds for the Agency.
Joseph Walker founded Team LADACIN in support of his brother Conor, a client at the Schroth Center for over 20 years. Walker, a former New York City Marathon runner, brought his efforts to New Jersey and also brought a host of new supporters for LADACIN. Conor’s mother, Denise Walker hosts an annual postrace fundraising party, which was held at The Headliner in Neptune this year. The party included a BBQ lunch buffet, cash bar and music by Chris Morrisy. There was also a gift raffle, which helped bring the overall total to over $36,000 raised for the entire event.
LADACIN volunteers worked for two days prior to the race to help set up and register the runners, assigning them bibs and handing out t-shirts. Volunteers included over 70 students from Brick Memorial High School’s National Honor Society.
