Early Intervention

The mission of the New Jersey Early Intervention System (NJEIS) is to enhance the capacity of families to meet the developmental and health-related needs of children from birth to age three who have delays or disabilities by providing quality services and support to families and their children.

LADACIN Network’s Early Intervention (EI) Program provides early identification, evaluation, and comprehensive EI services in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Eligibility evaluations are available in Monmouth County by the Targeted Evaluation Team. Early Intervention services build on the child’s strengths through developmentally appropriate activities. Services encourage social, language, and physical development through purposeful play and other educational and therapeutic activities.

Babies learn more skills in the first three years than at any other time.

Many of these skills develop in the first year and serve as building blocks for later development. Babies learn and grow at different rates and some babies need a little extra help. It is important to get some help if you or your baby’s doctor have concerns about reaching some of those developmental milestones. Early intervention provides support and services to children and their families so that families can help their child learn during everyday activities and routines. Services are provided by qualified professionals in natural environments such as the home, a community agency, or a childcare facility, where children are most comfortable. Early Intervention uses a family-centered approach that involves you in every step of your child’s plan. The focus is to help empower family members to incorporate the activities and strategies into your child’s daily routines.

Early Intervention Philosophy

Nurturing relationships, developed through partnerships with children, families, and the Early Intervention System, enhance the capacity of families to meet the ongoing developmental & health-related needs of the child. Families & the EI System work together as partners to “engage & exchange”. EI providers engage with caregivers to exchange information and intervention strategies and support to promote the child’s learning and development.

Our speech therapist Kathy was wonderful, and my child made great progress with her.

I enjoyed Jessica and Judy. They were very nice and understood me as a mom. They also gave me a lot of daily tips to do with my daughter.
