ASAH awards Tyhesia Elliot – State of New Jersey Paraprofessional of the Year Award.

A well-deserved award for outstanding service to our students

ASAH, a not-for-profit organization comprised of private schools and agencies that provide highly specialized services to children with disabilities in New Jersey, has awarded LADACIN Network’s Tyhesia Elliot with the State of New Jersey Paraprofessional of the Year Award at ASAH’s Annual Conference on November 14, 2022, for her outstanding service and dedication to students with special needs.

Tyhesia Elliot has been a paraprofessional in LADACIN Network’s Schroth School Program for twenty years and has worked in a variety of grade levels. She is a dynamic paraprofessional with a strong knowledge of her students, their needs and the level of teamwork that is involved in the daily classroom happenings.

As a veteran staff member, Ms. Tyhesia carries out school-wide duties to support our students. She supports our school transportation routines by assisting with bus duty. She knows every student, their family members, bus routes and bus staff. She greets everyone by first name and is a cheerleader as the students come into school. She is bright and positive, and her energy is contagious.

Ms. Elliot is extremely dedicated to special education services for individuals with disabilities at-large. She has a keen understanding of needs of students with complex physical and developmental disabilities and communicates well with others to ensure they are met. She is committed to learning all she can about speech, physical and occupational therapy so in addition to her stellar paraprofessional skills she can support the therapeutic needs of the students in a very challenging population.
