Reading Across America

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child” In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Lehmann and Schroth Schools participated in Read Across America.

In an effort to increase awareness of the importance of reading, volunteers throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties were invited into classrooms to inspire a love of reading. Senator Vin Gopal, LADACIN Network’s Board of Trustees Vice-President Victor Sbailo, OceanFirst Bank staff, LADACIN staff, parents, and friends selected their favorite books and read them to our students. In their warmest, funniest, and most descriptive voices, these volunteers made the storybook characters come alive. Reading helps to stimulate the children’s imagination as they immerse themselves in the storyline.

Thank you to all friends and supporters who took the time to read to our school children. It’s hard to say who enjoyed it more, the children or the adults!

“You can find magic wherever you look sit back & relax all you need is a book!”- Dr. Seuss
